remote backup How it Works...
Despite the incredible benefits that it can have to your business throughout the year and especially in the event of a crisis, the GoCloud remote backup solution is simple to deploy, simple to understand and simple to use.
For relatively small amounts of data this initial backup would be conducted via the internet. However, if you are backing up a server, for example, this would be the procedure used by GoCloud. Here are the seven steps to securing all your company's data:
GoCloud dispatches a USB HD
Once you have joined the remote backup service GoCloud sends you a USB hard drive.
Installs the GoCloud client
A simple piece of software is installed on your servers and desktop PCs.
Initial data backup commences
You back up your data to the provided USB hard drive.
Final step required of the customer
The USB hard drive is returned to GoCloud's technicians.
Data safely restored to secure servers
GoCloud transfer your data on to GoCloud's private cloud of highly-reliable, highly resilient, high-speed, secure servers and Storage Array Network in our UK data centres. Your remote backup service is ready to begin.
Automatic backups commence
Our backup software on your network connects to our remote servers and begins to backup any files that have changed; by the method you chose - either backing-up files the instant they are changed or, the more traditional daily scheduled backup.
Restoring a backed-up file
If you need to restore a backed-up file all you have to do is click on a desktop icon, that opens up a web console, from which you may choose the file you wish to restore.
