Benefits of Cloud Computing

Moving your business to the cloud appears to be a daunting task for many SMBs and enterprises alike; however, the benefits are becoming clearer to companies all the time and services such as virtual desktops or Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) are beginning to gather pace as take-up increases rapidly.

As the infographic shows, cloud take-up is already ensuring that those who utilise the technology are beginning to leave their competitors “in the dust”, as businesses enjoy a 31% saving in terms of IT costs.

Email and collaboration software top the list in terms of what is most used in cloud with 70% of businesses using cloud service for email and 45% for collaboration.

Currently, the leaders in the take-up of cloud services are IT, financial services and legal services. In the UK, according to the BBC, the internet economy accounts for an 8.3% of the overall economy, a larger share than any other G20 country in the world.

Bearing this in mind, eTailers and other internet-based companies can seriously benefit from the cloud and taking up services such as cloud desktops could give companies the freedom to invest in their businesses even further, boosting the flagging UK economy even more.

All-in-all, this is the best time to consider moving to the cloud as the benefits are enormous; for IT resellers, it would be incredibly negligent to ignore the opportunities that becoming a virtual desktop partner could represent.

As the infographic shows, not only is the cloud flexible, cost-effective, scalable and more, it’s the future of the internet so it makes sense for small businesses and resellers alike to get in on the action at the ‘ground floor’.
